Hotel Okura Amsterdam opens ‘Serre Restaurant, inspired by Ciel Bleu’
On January 3, 2011, Hotel Okura Amsterdam will be opening its fourth restaurant: ‘Serre Restaurant, inspired by Ciel Bleu'. This new restaurant will enable a wider audience to get acquainted with the essence of Ciel Bleu's cuisine. The restaurant will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Marc van der Tang, former Sous Chef of the Ciel Bleu restaurant, will be Chef de Cuisine at Serre Restaurant. He will be guiding the kitchen team, which takes its inspiration from Ciel Bleu. A selection of Ciel Bleu's signature dishes from the past years will be presented in a new form. The menu will contain classic as well as innovative dishes, making for a truly international culinary offering. The quality and style that Ciel Bleu is renowned for are presented with a light touch, enabling a wider audience to get acquainted with the essence of Ciel Bleu's cuisine. Onno Kokmeijer, Ciel Bleu's Executive Chef & Manager, says: "We want to give our guests more options. While Ciel Bleu is available for an extensive dinner, guests can now also visit Serre Restaurant for an à la carte business breakfast or a quick lunch."
Serre Restaurant features a modern interior design, allowing guests to enjoy their food in a relaxed setting. A semi-open kitchen enhances the restaurant's accessible and contemporary atmosphere. In addition, the restaurant has a spacious terrace, where guests have a view of the Amstel channel from their lounge seats.
Serre Restaurant will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, for the first time making it possible to enjoy a luxurious full-service breakfast at the hotel. The restaurant's signature dish will be Serre's Bento box: a luxury lunch box that contains a complete lunch consisting of seafood, meat and vegetable dishes that guests can enjoy within 50 minutes - including dessert.
